James Freeman is the Founder and Lead Creative Director of SAUCEMRKT. Originally from Killeen, Texas, James moved to Austin in 2013 to attend Huston Tillotson University, where he earned a B.S. in Business Management.
Initially a portrait photographer, James used his mastery of creating compelling compositions to expand into other areas of photography and, eventually, cinematography. Touted for his ability to work in low light and his use of color, he deploys a style that is often dramatic and bold, bringing viewers crashing into the environments he captures. His portfolio has garnered him repeated recognition as one of Austin's top photographers and has allowed him to evolve his passion from a local side hustle to a global operation.
In 2015 he hosted his first, creative networking mixer and photo meetup. The vision was simple—bring together photographers, models, and anyone with the passion to create and provide a space to network and collaborate. Over the course of the next seven years, James would continue to host events and bring together hundreds of artists across Texas.
In 2023, along with four other local artists, James decided to take this vision of creative collaboration to the next level and launched SAUCEMRKT, a full-service production company and community aimed at empowering businesses and artists alike.
